      <image:title>About Us - Our Farm.</image:title>
<image:caption>Our farm is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia. We breed Scottish Blackface sheep, mid-size and miniature Galloway cattle, and keep horses for trail riding pleasure. Our appreciation for this breed comes from first-hand experience working with them in Scotland. We loved them so much we decided we needed them to be a part of our farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Our flock consists of 30-40 breeding ewes and several rams. Lambs are born each year in March and are weaned and ready to sell by June. We are members of the Scottish Blackface Breeders Association and all of our stock can be registered. We sell Scottish blackface fleece, washable sheep skins, and horns. Contact us in February each year to reserve sheep and have first choice of lambs.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Us - The Galloway Adventure</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2016, we added to our sheep operation with a new adventure: registered miniature and mid-sized White Park Galloway cattle. We enjoy working with our cattle, alongside our sheep. We are members of the American Galloway Breeders Association and we keep ten breeding cows, two bulls, heifers, and bull calves. We have stock for sale.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Sheep - Scottish Blackface Sheep</image:title>
<image:caption>Scottish Blackface are a thrifty breed of sheep. They are very hardy, easy to maintain, and a joy to look at in the pasture. Both ewes and rams have horns. They are a medium size with ewes maturing to weigh 120-135 pounds and rams 175- 200 pounds. In addition to an long attractive, white fleece, their roman nose and unusual black and white face markings set them apart in appearance. The Scottish Blackface fleece is long and coarse, known for strength and durability, its used for carpet and in Europe for Irish and Scottish tweed and for mattress making. Ewes are easy lambers and protective mothers of their lambs. Because of their excellent mothering ability, the breed is also excellent for creating thrifty crossbreeds. The Scottish Blackface breed matures slowly and as a result has never really caught on for commercial production of lambs in the US. However, the carcass is lean, incredibly fine-grained, and has an excellent flavor. This and all of the breeds qualities make them ideal for the small farmer.</image:caption>
